There are many facts out there about hearing loss, and many people may think that significant hearing problems don't appear until a person is older, or until they've worked in an environment where sustained noise is present. However, there are many factors that lead to hearing loss, and a person doesn't have to be a certain age, experience a trauma, or work in a loud environment to have hearing issues. Approximately 36 million people, or nearly 17 percent of Americans have some degree of hearing loss. That 17 percent includes people of all ages, including those that are still working.

If you have hearing problems while you're still working, it can negatively impact your productivity and your happiness while at your job. If you struggle to hear coworkers, it can lead to miscommunication that can cause errors in a certain process or end product. If you're hesitant to admit that you didn't hear or understand what was said, it can cause other issues within the workplace. At Houston ENT & Allergy in Sugar Land, we can provide solutions that will improve your hearing and help you remain happy and productive while at work.

It is true that as people age, hearing problems become more prominent. By age 65, one in three people has some form of hearing loss, but there are those who are much younger than 65 that have trouble hearing on an everyday basis. If you're one of those people, come to our ENT clinic right away for precise diagnosis and effective solutions. We look forward to helping you hear again!
