Allergies are a serious matter for any person, and if you're someone that notices the differences in your reactions as the seasons change, it's important to know how to combat your allergies year-round. For those that notice the biggest increase in allergic reactions during the fall, they most likely have ragweed to thank for that. At our Downtown Houston ENT clinic, we provide allergy treatment for several patients each fall that are suffering due to ragweed pollen.
Ragweed usually begins to release pollen in mid-August, so now that September has arrived, plenty of pollen grains are now in the air and affecting those sensitive to the allergen. If you're out and about in the morning, you may notice that you have a stronger reaction than when you're outside in the evening. Sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes are common symptoms, and a person may experience congestion and inflammation of the nasal passages after prolonged exposure to ragweed. We can recommend the proper treatment and medication to keep your reactions under control, as well as how to plan your day so you risk the least exposure to pollen and other allergens.
If you're dealing with increased reactions due to ragweed pollen, come to our Downtown Houston ENT clinic right away. We can provide the proper allergy treatment, and help you understand why your body reacts to ragweed the way it does. If you can breathe, see, and sleep normally during the rest of the year, but have difficulty come fall, we want to provide the necessary remedy as soon as possible.
